00:23-01:01 – Now before you go setting new years resolutions to get fit, lost the weight, be more productive or get ahead in your finances.

I’d like you to think about how you operate best. That is what conditions are required for you to have the maximum chance of following through on your new resolutions or goals?

Studies show that most people give up on their good intentions fairly quickly but I’ve seen many people just like yourself follow through consistently and get results way beyond what they desired.

1:02-1:40 – When I’m talking about conditions, I mean, would it be useful for you to allocate a specific time during the week where you do something towards your goal. Rather than doing it when you find the time?

For example, a new business client of mine wanted to spend his time focusing on developing new business and building relationship with existing clients,’ but it wasn’t happening because he got caught up with the day to day ‘Stuff’ in the office.

We agreed that he would initially spend one hour first thing on a Monday morning at a local hotel lobby, before he goes to the office, as he admitted he couldn’t do it there.

Now, he’s been going to hotel for approximately 6 weeks. He makes phone calls, replies to e-mails etc. His productivity has gone through the roof from this one simple strategy.

1:41-2:30 – To bring the best out of yourself it might work for you to have a training buddy, a colleague to hold you accountable or a performance coaching expert to make sure that you do what you say you want to do.

2:31-2:43 – For a bit of fun I recommend that you create a theme for each quarter of the year. E.g. The theme for Jan-March might be ‘Energized and focused your well being. April-June might be ‘Automation.’ This could be where you focus on getting parts of your life or business automated so you do the work once and then the system does the rest.

You might set mini goals to keep you focused E.g. My weight on January the 15th is 82kg.
This whole process is completely tailored to you because you know yourself better than anyone else.

Remember the definition of insanity according to Albert Einstein? It’s to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different result, so don’t do that!
